Introduction

Rageum(樂音) means “Joyful & Happy Musical Art.” The Rageum Orchestra aims to perform the most Korean music to be global in delivering the essence of traditional Korean music, dance, and vocals. In performing created music, it will create a unique artistic appeal by interpreting traditional Korean music in a new performing environment. Under the spirit of‘New Creation from Old Tradition,’Rageum makes music with a modern and stylish artistic sense.

History

• 2012.06: Korea-Japan Traditional Music Exchange Concert (at Kioi Hall, Japan)
• 2012.10:‘Arts & Business' in affiliation with the Korea Mecenat Association
• 2013.04: Concert on cruises in Fukuoka and Nagoya, Japan upon special invitation by the Korea Tourism Organization
• 2013.06: Korea-Japan Traditional Music Exchange Concert (at Kioi Hall, Japan)
• 2014.03: The 18th Rageum Orchestra Performance (at National Gugak Center)
• 2014.06: Special invitation performance (at Printemps Coréen in Nantes, France)
• 2014.07: A special music concert, wishing Jeju Haenyeo listed in UNESCO World Heritage (at Jeju Arts Center)
• 2014.08: Hangawi Special Performance (at Yeonakdang of the Busan National Gukak Center)
