Koreanists in North America

-Koreanist: a person with at least a Master’s degree (any field) and who has Korea as a research focus as evidenced by one or more of the following:
1. A PhD or currently a PhD student with a dissertation related directly to Korea
2. At least two published works that have Korea as a primary focus
3. Experience teaching at least two courses with Korea as a primary focus

-Koreanist in North America: a person who meets the above definition of “Koreanist” and who is currently physically living in North America or affiliated with a North American institution (regardless of nationality)


Higher Education Programs in North America

-Higher Education: Korean Studies at universities and colleges can basically be broken into three tiers
1. A dedicated center for Korean Studies (includes 2 & 3)
2. Degrees in Korea related fields (includes 3)
3. Courses on Korea


Think tanks & Organizations in North America
