    • Programs Remarks - This program engages challenges and opportunities arising from shifting demographics and the changing fabric of South Korean society with refugees from North Korea and economic migrants from Russia, China, Vietnam, the Philippines, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal and elsewhere. It focuses on engaging the everyday reality of this shifting dynamic, recognizing and apprehending the complexity of the situation and building friendships and working towards mutual transformation of both engagers and the communities.

    • Programs Remarks - A major in AMES with a concentration in Korean requires ten courses, at least eight of which must be at the 200 level or above.
  2. Program (Korea-related degree offered) : Minor in Asian & Middle Eastern Studies
    • Programs Remarks - Minor in Korean is available in two tracks: the language track and the literature track. Five courses are required in each track. A minor in the language track requires 3-4 language courses above the elementary level, two of which must be at the 300 level, and 1-2 corresponding AMES literature/culture courses at the 100 level or above. A minor in the literature track requires 2 language courses above the elementary level, 1-2 Korean literature/culture courses at the 100 level or above and 1-2 other AMES literature/culture courses at the 100 level or above.
