   • Courses Remarks - Survey of East Asian countries: China, Japan, and Korea-from ancient times to the mid-19th Century, with emphasis on the emergence and development of cultural traditions and political institutions in these countries and their interaction. One 200-level history course or permission of department is prerequisite to all history courses above the 299 level.
