Study Abroad

  1. Program (Korea-related degree offered) : Korea Summer Study Abroad
    • Program Remarks - This program presents an opportunity for students around the world to come together in Seoul, Korea to learn, discuss and reflect on the topics of Global Governance and East Asian civilization. Classes are in session from Monday through Thursday and students may register for a maximum of 2 courses (each course is 45 hours). Students will also participate in a range of historical and cultural programs to complement their coursework and take weekend excursions to popular Korean tourist attractions.
    1. Korea-related Courses : Korean I LANG 9071
      • Course Remarks - The course teaches students to say, read and write the Korean alphabet at a beginner level. Use interactive exercises to study and practice essential vocabulary, pronunciation and grammar, and examine the geography, customs and culture of Korea.
    2. Korea-related Courses : Korean II LANG 9079
      • Course Remarks - By building on the skills developed in Korean I, the students will learn to participate in a higher level of conversational Korean. Continue to practice basic vocabulary, pronunciation and grammar while also exploring some of the cultural history of Korea.
    3. Korea-related Courses : Korean Cooking HOSF 9424
      • Course Remarks - The course captures the compelling flavours of Korean food as you create characteristic vegetable, meat and seafood dishes using distinctive ingredients. Prepare full menus of Korean dishes as you build a repertoire of new recipes and improved culinary skills.
    4. Korea-related Courses : Vegetarian Asian Cooking HOSF 9175
      • Course Remarks - The course teaches culinary techniques to prepare delicious vegetarian recipes from countries across Asia. Discover the culinary traditions from countries such as China, Japan, Korea, Vietnam, Thailand and Indonesia. The majority of recipes used are plant-based.

    • Program Remarks - George Brown College provides excellent study and work opportunities for students to study in another country for academic credit. The periods range from a week to an entire semester. We offer study and work abroad opportunities in over 23 programs and in 17 different countries, including South Korea. Opportunities cover:
