1. Program (Korea-related degree offered) : Major in East Asian Studies
   • Programs Remarks - The East Asian studies major is interdisciplinary and interdepartmental. Its primary purpose is to introduce undergraduates to the knowledge, language skills, and research methods they will need to enter various specialized professional paths relating to China, Japan, and Korea, including but not limited to advanced academic research. There is no minor in East Asian studies.

      • Courses Remarks - This course examines the history of disease, epidemics, and public health responses in East Asia from the 17th-20th centuries. This public health history emphasizes the interactions, connections, and comparisons among China, Japan, Korea, and Taiwan.
   2. Korea-related Courses : AS.190.427 - Political Economy of Japan and Korea
      • Courses Remarks - This upper-level seminar examines some of the major debates and issues of postwar Japanese and South Korean political economy. Topics include nationalism, gender politics, civil society, immigration, and US-Japan-South Korea trilateral relations.
   3. Korea-related Courses : AS.380.102 - First Year Korean II
      • Courses Remarks - Focuses on improving speaking fluency to Limited Proficiency so that one can handle simple daily conversations with confidence. It provides basic high-frequency structures and covers Korean holidays.
   4. Korea-related Courses : AS.380.202 - Second Year Korean II
      • Courses Remarks - Aims for improving writing skills with correct spelling. Reading materials of Korean people, places, and societies will enhance cultural understanding and awareness, including discussion on family tree.
   5. Korea-related Courses : AS.380.302 - Third Year Korean II
      • Courses Remarks - Emphasizes reading literacy in classic and modern Korean prose. By reading Korean newspapers and professional articles in one’s major, it enables one to be well-versed and truly literate.
