   • Course Remarks - East Asian culture, identity, gender, and communication patterns are explored through the examination of different genres in popular films and documentaries from Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and China.
2. Korea-related Courses : HIST 162: Perspectives on East Asia
   • Course Remarks - East Asian civilization, from antiquity to the present, is introduced. Focus is on China and Japan. Included are significant thematic elements of culture, society, politics, literature, and art that distinguish East Asian from Western civilization.
