    • Program Remarks - GEO (Global Education Oregon) is a national study abroad program provider and the UO study abroad office with more than 250 programs in 90 countries.
  2. Program (Korea-related degree offered) : International Summer School and Internship in South Korea
    • Program Remarks - Dankook University (DKU), founded in 1947, is an up-and-coming, private research University in South Korea, just outside the capital city of Seoul. The International Summer School (ISS) at DKU offers the opportunity to participate in a range of experiences, such as: an internship teaching English to DKU students, intensive courses taught in English, and Korean language courses.

Undergraduate

    • Program Remarks - University of Oregon undergraduate students must complete an academic major to graduate; they may also complete additional majors, minors, or both. The Department of East Asian Languages and Literatures offers a minor in Korean to undergraduate students.

      • Course Remarks - The goal of this course is to introduce students to modern South Korea through an examination of the various aspects and issues shaping its history, culture, and society.

      • Course Remarks - Introduction to language and society in East Asia. Topics include: the structure of Chinese, Japanese, and Korean; politeness; intercultural communication; writing; minority and immigrant communities.
    3. Korea-related Courses : 440/540 Japanese and Korean Phonetics
      • Course Remarks - The articulatory and acoustic analyses of Japanese and Korean sound systems.
    4. Korea-related Courses : 442/542 Second-Language Acquisition
      • Course Remarks - Analyzes how important theories and concepts in second-language acquisition apply specifically to the learning of Chinese, Japanese, and Korean.

      • Course Remarks - Advanced course in language pedagogy; includes investigation of issues pertinent to the teaching ot East Asian languages.
    6. Korea-related Courses : 486/586 East Asian Sociopragmatics
      • Course Remarks - Provides detailed analysis of how three East Asian languages (Chinese, Japanese, Korean) are used appropriately according to the social context.

Students may enhance majors in other departments with a minor in East Asian Studies, South Asian Studies or Southeast Asian Studies.
